G20  Summit World Reader Reception

The Group of Twenty Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (also known as the G-20, G20, and Group of Twenty) is a group of finance ministers and central bank governors from 20 major economies. The G-20 heads of government or heads of state have also periodically conferred at summits since their initial meeting in 2008. Collectively, the G-20 economies account for more than 80 percent of the gross world product (GWP), 80 percent of world trade and two-thirds of the world population.

The G-20 was proposed by former Canadian PM Paul Martin as a forum for cooperation and consultation on matters pertaining to the international financial system. The group was formally inaugurated in September 1999, and held its first meeting in December 1999. It studies, reviews, and promotes high-level discussion of policy issues pertaining to the promotion of international financial stability, and seeks to address issues that go beyond the responsibilities of any one organization.

The G-20 Summit was created as a response both to the financial crisis of 2007-10 and to a growing recognition that key emerging countries were not adequately included in the core of global economic discussion and governance. The G-20 Summits of heads of state or government were held in addition to the G-20 Meetings of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, who continued to meet to prepare the leaders' summit and implement their decisions.

Gambia released this souvenir sheet in 2009 on the 2nd G20 Summit in London, UK. Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is seen with QE II & other world leaders.

The 2013 Women's Cricket World Cup will be the 10th Women's World Cricket Cup, and will be hosted by India for the 3rd time. India hosted the world cup in 1978 and 1997.

W1 W3 W2

The history of women's cricket can be traced back to a report in The Reading Mercury on 26 July 1745 and a match that took place between the villages of Surrey in England.

The Women ICC's was formed in 1958 to coordinate women's cricket which was now being played regularly in Australia, England, New Zealand, SA, WI, Denmark & Netherlands. Test cricket has now been played by Australia, England, India, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies.

W4 W5

Women have beaten male teams to several milestones in one day cricket.

They were the first to play an international Twenty/20 match, England taking on New Zealand at Hove in 2004. The first tie in a one day international was also between Women's teams, hosts New Zealand tying the first match of the World Cup in 1982 against England, who went on to record another tie against Australia in the same competition. Female wicket keepers were the first to record 6 dismissals in a one day international, New Zealand's Sarah Ilingworth and India's V. Kalpana both accounting for 6 batsman on the same day in the 1993 World Cup and Belina Clark the former Australian captain, is the only female player to have scored a double hundred in an ODI, recording an unbeaten 229 in the 1997 World Cup against Denmark. She also holds the record for the most runs in a one day career with 4844. Pakistan's S. Shah is the youngest player to appear in international cricket, playing against Ireland four months after her 12th birthday. She also holds the record for the best bowling figures in a one day international, taking 7 wickets for just 4 runs against Japan Women at the Sportpark Drieburg in Amsterdam in 2003. Fast bowler C. Fitzpatrick of Australia took 180 wickets in her one day international career.

In 2009, England batsman C.Taylor was named one of Wisden's five cricketers of the year the first woman to be honoured with the award in its 120 year history.

All the best to all participating nations.

" World Day of Romani Language"

image

The text given on above Croatian means stamp means "World Day of Romani Language" in Romani (large text on stamp) and Croatian (small text on side of stamp and text on coupon with leaf).

image

This stamp could also be a part of India-releated topics. Romani people origin is in north-western India (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_of_the_Romani_people#Origin), their legend says that they were forced to leave under attacks of foreign enemy. They still live very nomadic lives. Again, they say that  where they came they were surrounded with enemies so they run all the time (a lot of truth in it, they have always been and still are faced with hard racism all over Europe). So, they have chosen blue-and-green (wide open fields under a sky) flag with wagon wheel to represent them.
